28 DAYS: SAN FRANCISCO TO STURGIS LOOP

22 July to 19 August 2024

We’re excited to offer a new route in 2024! Starting in San Francisco where we enjoy the sights and nightlife of Pier 39 before picking up our bikes the following morning to head to the famous Napa Valley. The next day riding will take us through Carson City and the Sierra Nevada Mountains. Riding the Loneliest Highway will be anything but lonely, offering spectacular landscapes on either side of the highway! The next day we head to Bonneville Salt Flats which has been the backdrop for racing and ride gatherings over the years. Marvel at the salt surface surrounds and picture yourself watching Burt Munro! We head to Salt Lake City to pick up our second group of riders and have our official Welcome Dinner. We head to Garden City via the recreational paradise that is Bear Lake. The view is breathtaking and this theme continues as we ride into Jackson Wyoming with the magnificent Grand Tetons (also known as “big tits'“) in full view for the long ride in. More highlights to follow with Yellowstone National Park – and hopefully a bison or two! – and a stop to witness Old Faithfull erupt and do its thing! Cody is the next destination best known for the Buffalo Bill Centre of the West, and the tails of Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid! The tour reaches Sturgis on Friday night of the Rally where we stay for six days and five nights. There’s so much to see and do at the world’s biggest motorcycle rally! With two optional rides out to Mt Rushmore and to The Badlands, there’s unlimited scenery on twisting roads in the Black Hills, including Needles Highway, Custer Park, Devil’s Tower, Deadwood, and more! Pubs, bands, and entertainment like you’ve never seen before fill each day and night. The Full Throttle is worth the ride out. The Buffalo Chip is a postcode on its own with big headline acts – a definite must-see! You can’t miss out on One Eye’d Jacks, the All American, The Loud American, The Knuckle Brewing Company, Dungeon Bar, and Oasis Bar to name a few! And of course, there are countless vendors, dealerships, greasy food, eclectic crowds, and all the madness that is Sturgis, that will keep you entertained! The small western town of Cheyenne is our next stop. The historic township is rich in history, great restaurants, with cowboy boot monuments on every corner of the city square. The option to ride Pikes Peak en route to Manitou Springs is worth considering. It’s cold up there, but an excellent ride up! We say goodbye to our Salt Lake City riders with a huge Farewell Dinner. Our ride back to San Fran is via Hanksville then through the sacred Monument Valley area where we enjoy lunch and a guided tour of the Navajo rock formations witnessing one of the USA’s iconic landscapes – and the road that Forrest Gump decided to stop running! More impressive highlights to come to include Route 66, Hoover Dam, the Grand Canyon, and a free day in Las Vegas! We head to Bishop CA via Death Valley before our final day back in San Francisco via Yosemite National Park. We can’t wait to take you there!
