Sturgis & milwaukee – 2013
Ride with us and celebrate Harley-Davidson's 110th Anniversary as we take in to the Sturgis Rally (South Dakota), the home of H-D, Milwaukee (Wisconsin) and then back to Los Angeles along Route 66. This is one not to be missed!

Many of our members have joined us for past Sturgis and anniversary celebrations of Harley-Davidson and 2013 is another big one. It is the 110th Anniversary of Harley and it coincides with the 30th anniversary of HOG and is the 73rd anniversary of Sturgis.
So as you can imagine, there will be plenty more to see and do in the US in 2013. So now is the time to start planning and saving for your big trip. Heavy Duty Motorcycle Tours will be shipping motorcycles over and back so you can experience the thrill of riding your own Harley across the USA. Bikes will leave Australia in early May and be ready for pick up in Los Angeles in late July and then you will have until mid September to have your bike back in LA for the return shipping home, arriving early November.
This will give you between 7 weeks to travel throughout the USA. Sturgis is August 5-11th and Harley Davidson 110th celebrations in Milwaukee will be from August 28th till September 1st.
We are offering four different tours, as follows:
TOUR 1 (28 days)
Los Angeles to Sturgis and return – July 25 to August 22, 2013
TOUR 2 (16 days)
Salt Lake City to Sturgis and return – July 31 to August 16, 2013
TOUR 3 (52 days)
Los Angeles to Sturgis, 17 days free riding, Milwaukee to Los Angeles – July 25 to September 15, 2013
TOUR 4 (26 days)
Los Angeles to Milwaukee and return 26 days – August 19 to September 15, 2013
We can arrange your flights, accommodation, and tour routes or you can choose to do yourself. At this time, we would be organizing packages which would include return shipping inc marine insurance, return flights, Accommodation in Los Angeles, 6 nights camping or motel accommodation at Sturgis and 5 nights accommodation in Milwaukee. Temporary motorcycle insurance and roadside assistance application forms will be supplied but you will be responsible for payment as you decide value of your bike and level of cover required.
All persons shipping their bikes must apply for an Import Approval Application and pay the fee of $50. This fee is not included in the packages and the approval must be applied for and granted before bikes depart Australia. We would suggest you apply in February 2013. If you don’t have the time available for the long trip, then you can choose to rent a bike and attend either Sturgis or the 110th anniversary in Milwaukee, or both. The possibilities are limited only by your time and finances. All persons traveling to the USA must apply for a Visa Waiver and the website is https://esta.cbp.dhs.gov/esta/ This will cost you around $14.00 USD and you should apply at least six months before leaving for USA as this allows for any problems you may encounter when applying. For those with any criminal convictions, you may need to apply to get a clearance so please contact the US Consulate for further details.
